What to Expect:
– There will be no power in the building except for those circuits that are backed by the generator.
– All life safety equipment will remain fully functional.

Why:
To test the generator and ATS backup systems for operational reliability.

What to Expect:
– The Cameron Blvd. entrance from John Kirk Dr. will be closed.
– A portion of Cameron Blvd. will be closed from the John Kirk entrance to the entrance of Lot 6A (see map).
– Barricades and signs will be in place.

Wednesday, June 24th – 6:30 am until noon.

What’s Going On:
The Atkins Library will be closed and inaccessible to all faculty, staff, and students.

When:
Thursday, June 25, 2026 5:00 AM to Sunday, June 28, 2026 9:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Several large-scale power outages in the building lasting up to 24 hours each, including outages to the life safety systems in the building.

Why:
To facilitate major electrical upgrade/modernization work at the Atkins mechanical yard and generator.

What’s Going On:
Cleaning precast, walls & pavers along Craver Rd on the south side between CHHS and the Auxiliary Services Building.

When:
Wednesday, June 24, 2026 6:30 AM to Wednesday, June 24, 2026 3:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Could impact the sidewalks, but will mainly be focused on the knee walls and pathways.
– Soft wash & pressure washing equipment will be in use.
– May be a slight bleach smell.
– Please avoid these working areas during this time.
Affected Buildings:
* Auxiliary Services Building
* Cameron Hall
* College of Health and Human Services
* Craver Road

To clean and maintain precast, walls, and pavers.

Power to the College of Health and Human Services building will be shut off temporarily.

What to Expect:
– Emergency systems will operate via the generator during this time period
– All other power in the building will be offline.

Why:
To add an upsized temporary power feed from a shared transformer for the construction of the Honeywell Innovation Hub.

Cone Center Loading Dock will be inaccessible and blocked off to traffic.

When:

What to Expect:
Loading dock and loading dock entryway will be marked and blocked off to deter incoming traffic.

Why:
Cone structural damage and water intrusion assessment.

What’s Going On:
The loading dock at the Friday building is being closed off.

When:
Monday, June 22, 2026 7:00 AM to Friday, July 17, 2026 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Deliveries to the building can be made via the adjacent concrete driveway between Fretwell and Friday.
– Construction equipment, materials, and personnel in the area.
– Dumpster service has been suspended during this time period and waste from Friday is being sent to nearby dumpsters.

Why:
To rebuild the two damaged retaining walls at the Friday loading dock, and provide protection against future impacts from delivery vehicles and dumpsters.

What’s Going On:
Parking lot repairs and maintenance at Hawthorn’s parking lot – Lot 13.

When:
Monday, June 22, 2026 7:00 AM to Wednesday, June 24, 2026 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Lot 13’s closure time has been extended.
– The work should be finished by the end of day on Wednesday, June 24th (weather permitting).
– The lot will continue to be shut down.
Affected Buildings:
* Hawthorn
* Lot 13

Why:
To repair and maintain the surface of Parking Lot 13.

What’s Going On:
The sidewalk and stair at the south side of Kennedy will be closed off for all non-emergency traffic to remove the Kennedy canopy as part of the ongoing work to replace the stairs.

When:
Monday, June 29, 2026 7:00 AM to Friday, July 17, 2026 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Heavy construction equipment including a crane, demo machinery, and dumpsters.
– A protected emergency egress route will be in place during this time for one set of egress doors as the contractor works.
– This entrance has been closed since November 2025 to all traffic except emergencies due to the failure of the steps which was associated with the canopy.

Why:
To remove the precast concrete canopy at the south side of Kennedy.

The sidewalk between the Popp Martin Student Union and UREC will be closed for construction (including the grassy area and 2 ADA parking spaces adjacent to this area).

When:

What to Expect:
– The area will be blocked off with a construction fence and impassable.
– Signage will be posted inside and outside to help guide patrons.

To improve ADA access and widen this sidewalk.
