What to Expect:
– Access will be restricted to Parking Lot 29(weather permitting).
– Area will be blocked off.

Why:
To repair, seal-coat, and re-stripe the parking lot.

What’s Going On:
Rotating closures of parking areas in Union Deck for pressure washing.

When:
Friday, June 26, 2026 6:00 PM to Monday, July 6, 2026 8:00 AM

What to Expect:
June 27 – June 29: Union Deck Upper closed; all parking in Union Deck lower. Enter via north entrance on Union Deck Lane. Visitor parking allowed in Commuter area at no charge.

July 3 – July 5: Union Deck Lower closed; all parking in Union Deck upper. Enter via south entrance on Student Union Lane. No charge for parking in Union Upper on these dates.

Why:
Periodic cleaning to maintain appearance and condition of parking facility.

What’s Going On:
Testing and final inspections of the fire alarm, smoke exhaust, emergency power, and other building systems.

When:
Thursday, July 2, 2026 6:00 AM to Thursday, July 2, 2026 7:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Building access will be prohibited except to authorized personnel.
– Fire alarms and smoke exhaust fans may go off periodically.
– Testing will disrupt the temperature inside the library.

Why:
To verify the operation of critical systems as part of the closeout process for the renovation project.

What’s Going On:
Installation of new conduit for new generator and fire pump controller above ceiling.

When:
Monday, June 29, 2026 7:00 AM to Monday, July 6, 2026 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Ceiling tile removed with Electricians installing conduit overhead in basement floor lobby area.
– First floor will be used for exiting the building.

Why:
To install new electrical conduit and wiring for new fire pump controller and generator.

What’s Going On:
The loading dock at the Friday building is being closed off.

When:
Monday, June 22, 2026 7:00 AM to Friday, July 17, 2026 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Deliveries to the building can be made via the adjacent concrete driveway between Fretwell and Friday.
– Construction equipment, materials, and personnel in the area.
– Dumpster service has been suspended during this time period and waste from Friday is being sent to nearby dumpsters.

Why:
To rebuild the two damaged retaining walls at the Friday loading dock, and provide protection against future impacts from delivery vehicles and dumpsters.

What’s Going On:
The sidewalk and stair at the south side of Kennedy will be closed off for all non-emergency traffic to remove the Kennedy canopy as part of the ongoing work to replace the stairs.

When:
Monday, June 29, 2026 7:00 AM to Friday, July 17, 2026 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Heavy construction equipment including a crane, demo machinery, and dumpsters.
– A protected emergency egress route will be in place during this time for one set of egress doors as the contractor works.
– This entrance has been closed since November 2025 to all traffic except emergencies due to the failure of the steps which was associated with the canopy.

Why:
To remove the precast concrete canopy at the south side of Kennedy.

What’s Going On:
The sidewalk between the Popp Martin Student Union and UREC will be closed for construction (including the grassy area and 2 ADA parking spaces adjacent to this area).

When:
Monday, June 15, 2026 7:00 AM to Friday, July 31, 2026 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
– The area will be blocked off with a construction fence and impassable.
– Signage will be posted inside and outside to help guide patrons.
Affected Buildings:
* Popp Martin Student Union
* University Recreation Center

Why:
To improve ADA access and widen this sidewalk.

What’s Going On:
Resurfacing and sidewalk improvements both ADA Parking Lots CRI 1A and CRI 2A.

When:
Wednesday, June 17, 2026 7:00 AM to Saturday, July 18, 2026 8:00 AM

What to Expect:
– Area will be blocked off with cones and barricades.
– Large equipment on site.
– They are scheduled to be re-opened by July 18th, 2026
Affected Buildings:
* Lot CRI 1A
* Lot CRI 2A

Why:
To resurface these parking areas and to improve sidewalks in the parking areas to meet current ADA standards.

What’s Going On:
The east sidewalk on Cameron Blvd, near the intersection of Cameron Blvd and Johnson Alumni Way, will be closed for construction.

When:

What to Expect:
– Barricades and signage in place.
Affected Buildings:
* Campus
* Cameron Boulevard

Why:
To create an access into the woods behind Laurel Hall for the Sanitary Sewer project.

What’s Going On:
Parking Lot 26 will be temporarily closed.

The upper parking lot will be closed on May 21 beginning at 5PM.

When:
Friday, May 22, 2026 5:00 PM to Friday, July 3, 2026 7:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Visitors and vendors can park in Lot 25 with the proper permit.
– Parking lot will be barricaded off.
– Construction equipment and personnel will be on site.
– Fleet cars will be moved from lot 26. New location to be determined.
– A new sidewalk from North Deck to the Facilities Annex buildings will be constructed prior to the beginning of the parking lot work. This work to start on May 18th and will not interfere with the parking lot.
