KING BUILDING FACADE REPAIRS – King

What’s Going On:
King building will start undergoing facade repairs next month. The contractor will be marking areas of the facade to be repaired.

When:
Wednesday, January 28, 2026 to Tuesday, June 30, 2026

What to Expect:
– Permanent markings on the King building.
– Areas of the building will be marked with color to be repaired.

Why:
To notifiy the campus that this is not graffiti. These markings will be visible until those areas are removed as part of the repairs.

What’s Going On:
The building will experience temporary access limitations.

When:

What to Expect:
– Exterior doors will be open during the transition.
– Interior locks on access control will be offline.
– Those in the building may experience temporary access issues.

MCENIRY LOADING DOCK CLOSURE – McEniry

What’s Going On:
McEniry loading dock will be closed.

When:
Monday, January 26, 2026 7:00 AM to Friday, January 30, 2026 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Equipment set up to dig trench for new electrical lines feeding McEniry.
– No vehicle or pedestrian access to area.
– Signage onsite to direct deliveries.

Why:
To make room for new generator serving McEniry and McMillan Greenhouse

PLANNED POWER OUTAGE FOR MCENIRY – McEniry

What’s Going On:
All power will be shut down to tMcEniry

When:
Friday, February 6, 2026 6:00 AM to Friday, February 6, 2026 8:00 AM

What to Expect:
– Limited power to only those circuits and equipment that are generator backed, all other power will be off.
– All life safety and emergency equipment will remain fully functional during the test.

Why:
To test the generator, ATS, and associated systems for operational reliability.

KENNEDY SOUTH STAIR CLOSURE – Kennedy

What’s Going On:
The staircase at the south side of Kennedy will be closed off for all non-emergency traffic.

When:
Tuesday, November 25, 2025 1:00 PM to Saturday, August 1, 2026 12:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Signage and fencing will indicate the closure and prevent access to and from Kennedy from the South side.
– Signage will also redirect users to the North side entry and exit doors.

The closed-off staircase will remain usable for emergency egress only.

Why:
The stairs are being cordoned off due to age-related deterioration, a project is being brought online for their full replacement.

SAC NORTH PARTIAL CLOSURE – SAC N Lot

What’s Going On:
A portion of the SAC North Lot is closed to all vehicles.

When:
Wednesday, September 3, 2025 12:00 AM to Friday, May 22, 2026 11:59 PM

What to Expect:
– No parking, stopping, or standing will be available.
– No loading or unloading will be available.
– Temporary signage.

Why:
To support CMS Early College operations on campus.

RICHARDSON STADIUM EXPANSION PROJECT-CONSTRUCTION START – Jerry Richardson Stadium

What’s Going On:
Barton Malow to begin mobilizing on site August 11, 2025 in order to start construction for the Richardson Stadium Expansion project.

When:
Monday, August 11, 2025 7:00 AM to Wednesday, May 12, 2027 11:59 PM

What to Expect:
– Bus route on Mac Everett Way South will be suspended throughout construction.
– Construction trailer to be delivered and installed the end of August.
– Minor work to begin at Richardson Stadium’s Gate 3.
– Full Site capture and construction fencing/ signage planned to be installed after the September 6, 2025 UNC Chapel Hill home football game.
– Access in and out of the stadium through Gate 2 will be closed for the 2025 season following the September 6, 2025 UNC Chapel Hill home football game. All other entries to remain open for 2025 season.
– ADA sidewalk access to the stadium will be maintained and signage for any disruptions will be posted.
– Additional updates will be released throughout the life of the project.
– Impacts to gameday operations will be communicated through Charlotte49ers.com and other University communication platforms.
