CHHS AND MEBANE HALL DOOR OUTAGES
What’s Going On:
Sporadic door access at CHHS and Mebane Hall.
When:
Tuesday, February 4, 2025 8:30 AM to Tuesday, February 4, 2025 1:00 PM
What to Expect:
May cause disruptions to interior door access when using credentials.
Affected Buildings:
* Mebane Hall
* College of Health and Human Services
Why:
Upgrading the panels for our access control system.

COLVARD WINDOW REPAIRS – Colvard
What’s Going On:
The Building Envelope staff will be making repairs over the windows on the south side of the building.
When:
Tuesday, February 4, 2025 8:00 AM to Tuesday, February 4, 2025 3:30 PM
What to Expect:
– There will be an 85 ft lift with the area blocked off from pedestrian traffic.
– Technicians will be in the lift and on the ground.
– Technicians on the ground will be there to direct pedestrians around the work area.
Why:
To repair windows that are leaking.

FRETWELL FIRE ALARM UPGRADE – Fretwell
What’s Going On:
New notification devices will be added to the existing Fire Alarm throughout Fretwell. The current Fire Alarm will remain active during this project.
When:
Monday, January 20, 2025 7:00 AM to Wednesday, April 30, 2025 5:00 PM
What to Expect:
– Construction noise/hammering related to contractors anchoring conduit to the concrete decking above ceiling for the new devices on all floors
– Majority of the work will take place in the corridors/hallways
Why:
To make necessary upgrades to the existing Fire Alarm System.

DEMOLITION OF SANFORD HALL
What’s Going On:
Commencement of the contract to demolish Sanford Hall.
When:
Tuesday, January 28, 2025 8:00 AM to Monday, November 3, 2025 5:00 PM
What to Expect:
– Construction vehicles and personnel in the area of Sanford Hall.
– The demolition of the structure will begin after commencement in May.
– Work beginning now is removal of debris within the building and installing scaffolding and encapsulating the build.
Affected Buildings:
* South Village Crossing
* Sanford Hall
* Levine Hall
* Wilson Hall
* Sanford Hall Lane
Why:
Building has reached the end of it’s life cycle.

REESE BUILDING DISRUPTIONS FOR REPAIR WORK
What’s Going On:
Disruptions to various offices and conference rooms on all levels of the west side of the building (facing Cone), as well as areas of the adjacent surface lot and exterior stairs at the southwest corner of the building.
When:
Tuesday, October 1, 2024 8:00 AM to Friday, February 28, 2025 5:00 PM
What to Expect:
– Construction noise from power tools, lifts, etc.
– Fencing and signage under work areas and around staging areas.
– Scaffolding set up at the west side of the building, including overhead protection at the entrances to the basement and 1st floors.
– Facade repair work will also occur above the exterior stairs at the southwest corner of the building.
Affected Buildings:
* Reese
* Lot 30
Why:
To facilitate replacement of the ribbon windows, precast elements, and curtain wall systems on the west elevation of the building.
