What to Expect:
– Restrooms will be closed Monday, April 13 through Monday, April 20.
– Floor crew equipment and technicians will be present.
– Restrooms will be blocked off including signage.

What’s Going On:
Lot 15, CHHS Lane, and all public access to the Honeywell Innovation Hub (Burson Hall) will be closed off. Sidewalks along Craver Road and Library Lane will also be closed off.

What to Expect:
Reminder about LOT 15 Closure.

Barricading with signage indicating closure & rerouting pedestrian and ADA traffic.

STORRS PATIO CLEANING

What’s Going On:
Cleaning Storrs patio and adjacent areas.

When:
Friday, April 10, 2026 6:00 AM to Friday, April 10, 2026 2:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Pressure washing equipment will be in use.
– Area will be coned and taped off and paver walkway will be closed to all traffic.

STUDENT UNION PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE REPAIR

What’s Going On:
The Pedestrian Bridge connecting the Union Parking Deck and the Popp Martin Student Union will be closed.

When:
Thursday, April 9, 2026 7:00 AM to Friday, April 10, 2026 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Follow the accessible pathway designated from the 4th floor of the Union Parking Deck to and from the front entrance of the Student Union.
– The entry/exit door near the ID office that leads to the Union Parking Deck will be closed (except for emergency exiting into adjacent exterior stairwell).
– The service parking lot to the west of RUP 3 will be closed.
– Alternative pathways are available.

Why:
To make necessary repairs to the pedestrian bridge.

BOARDWALK CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

What’s Going On:
This weekend on Saturday, March 28, a tree fell blocking the roadway between Harris Alumni Center and Bissell House on Cameron Blvd.

When:
Monday, March 30, 2026 5:00 AM to Thursday, April 30, 2026 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
-The boardwalk between Alumni and Bissell House is closed until further notice.
-Out of abundance of caution please avoid using this area until it’s reopened.

Why:
Damage from the tree falling is being addressed.

MODULAR CLASSROOM SEWER INSTALLATION

What’s Going On:
Installation of new sewer line from Lot 6/Lot 5A to Martin Hall

When:
Monday, March 9, 2026 to Tuesday, June 30, 2026

What to Expect:
– Walking paths will be closed.
– Open areas near CAB, Martin Hall, Lot 5 and Lot 6 will be closed to pedestrian traffic.
– Excavation equipment in the area.

ATKINS PENTHOUSE RADIO SYSTEM OUTAGE – Atkins

What’s Going On:
Temporary power shutdown of several electrical panels in the Atkins Tower penthouse.

When:
Friday, April 10, 2026 6:00 AM to Friday, April 10, 2026 9:00 AM

What to Expect:
Motorola equipment will be down once the UPS systems are depleted. This equipment supports 400 Mhz radio systems for FM, PPS, Athletics, and PATS, which will experience signal disruptions.

Why:
Electrical work to refeed/reconfigure panels as part of the separation of branches of power in Atkins, required for the reopening of the Tower.

KING BUILDING FACADE REPAIRS – King

What’s Going On:
King building will start undergoing facade repairs next month. The contractor will be marking areas of the facade to be repaired.

When:
Wednesday, January 28, 2026 to Tuesday, June 30, 2026

What to Expect:
– Permanent markings on the King building.
– Areas of the building will be marked with color to be repaired.

Why:
To notifiy the campus that this is not graffiti. These markings will be visible until those areas are removed as part of the repairs.

KENNEDY SOUTH STAIR CLOSURE – Kennedy

What’s Going On:
The staircase at the south side of Kennedy will be closed off for all non-emergency traffic.

When:
Tuesday, November 25, 2025 1:00 PM to Saturday, August 1, 2026 12:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Signage and fencing will indicate the closure and prevent access to and from Kennedy from the South side.
– Signage will also redirect users to the North side entry and exit doors.

The closed-off staircase will remain usable for emergency egress only.

Why:
The stairs are being cordoned off due to age-related deterioration, a project is being brought online for their full replacement.
