JAMIL NINER STUDENT PANTRY WATER OUTAGE – Jamil Niner Student Pantry
What’s Going On:
There is an emergency shutoff and isolation of the main water supply line due to an unexpected domestic water line break affecting the facility.
When:
Friday, September 25, 2026 10:00 AM to Monday, September 28, 2026 5:00 PM
What to Expect:
– Running water will be completely unavailable throughout the duration of the outage.
– This impacts all restrooms, handwashing sinks, drinking fountains, kitchen facilities, and equipment reliant on domestic water service.
– Building occupants should plan to use restrooms in neighboring active facilities.
Why:
This shutdown is required to isolate the leak, depressurize the affected pipe segment, safely conduct emergency repairs, and restore full system operation.

BARNHARDT STUDENT ACTIVITY CENTER TEMPORARY WATER OUTAGE – Barnhardt Student Activity Center
What’s Going On:
Tie in to building systems for installation of new boiler for dining areas.
When:
Sunday, September 27, 2026 7:00 AM to Sunday, September 27, 2026 2:00 PM
What to Expect:
– Running water will be completely unavailable throughout the duration of the outage.
– This impacts all restrooms, handwashing sinks, drinking fountains, kitchen facilities, and equipment reliant on domestic water service.
– Building occupants should plan to use restrooms in neighboring active facilities.
Why:
This shutdown is required to safely connect the new equipment to the building.

MCENIRY, SMITH, PROSPECTOR AND FRIDAY REDUCED COOLING
What’s Going On:
McEniry, Smith, Prospector, and Friday will experience reduced cooling.
When:
Thursday, September 3, 2026 8:00 AM to Tuesday, December 1, 2026 5:00 PM
What to Expect:
During the notification period, occupants should expect warmer-than-normal temperatures in the buildings.

Why:
A temporary chiller is in use while the permanent chiller is being repaired.

SIDEWALK CLOSURE – SANITARY SEWER CONSTRUCTION
What’s Going On:
The east sidewalk on Cameron Blvd, near the intersection of Cameron Blvd and Johnson Alumni Way, will be closed for construction.
When:
Friday, June 12, 2026 to Sunday, February 28, 2027
What to Expect:
– Barricades and signage in place.
Affected Buildings:
* Campus
* Cameron Boulevard
Why:
To create an access into the woods behind Laurel Hall for the Sanitary Sewer project.

FRIDAY BUILDING CONSTRUCTION FENCING – Friday
What’s Going On:
Construction fencing will be in place between Friday and Fretwell.
When:
Monday, July 6, 2026 8:00 AM to Tuesday, December 1, 2026 5:00 AM
What to Expect:
Walkway between Friday and Fretwell will be narrowed to allow for construction fencing, but will still allow pedestrian flow through the area.
Why:
Construction fencing enclosure for dumpster and lay-down area for the Friday Classrooms Renovation project.

LOT 15 AND SIDEWALK CLOSURE
What’s Going On:
Lot 15, CHHS Lane, and all public access to the Honeywell Innovation Hub (Burson Hall) will be closed off. Sidewalks along Craver Road and Library Lane will also be closed off.
When:

What to Expect:
Reminder about LOT 15 Closure.
Barricading with signage indicating closure & rerouting pedestrian and ADA traffic.

LOT 11 PARKING SPACE CLOSURES – Lot 11
What’s Going On:
Parking spaces will be blocked off during construction of the Loy Witherspoon Center for Meditation and Reflection.
When:
Friday, May 8, 2026 8:00 AM to Friday, January 29, 2027 5:00 PM
What to Expect:
6 parking spaces will be permanently closed and captured for the construction of the new Loy Witherspoon Center, and section of spaces adjacent to the construction site entrance will be temporarily closed for a portion of the construction project.
Why:
For the new construction of the Loy Witherspoon Center for Meditation and Reflection.

RICHARDSON STADIUM EXPANSION PROJECT-CONSTRUCTION START – Jerry Richardson Stadium
What’s Going On:
Barton Malow to begin mobilizing on site August 11, 2025 in order to start construction for the Richardson Stadium Expansion project.
When:
Monday, August 11, 2025 7:00 AM to Wednesday, May 12, 2027 11:59 PM
What to Expect:
– Bus route on Mac Everett Way South will be suspended throughout construction.
– Construction trailer to be delivered and installed the end of August.
– Minor work to begin at Richardson Stadium’s Gate 3.
– Full Site capture and construction fencing/ signage planned to be installed after the September 6, 2025 UNC Chapel Hill home football game.
– Access in and out of the stadium through Gate 2 will be closed for the 2025 season following the September 6, 2025 UNC Chapel Hill home football game. All other entries to remain open for 2025 season.
– ADA sidewalk access to the stadium will be maintained and signage for any disruptions will be posted.
– Additional updates will be released throughout the life of the project.
– Impacts to gameday operations will be communicated through Charlotte49ers.com and other University communication platforms.

To support the Richardson Stadium Expansion project.
