What to Expect:
– Restrooms will be closed Monday, July 13 through Monday, July 20.
– Floor crew equipment and technicians will be present.
– Restrooms will be blocked off including signage.

Why:
Restoration of restroom floors.

What’s Going On:
The sidewalk on the Atkins side of Kennedy will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

When:
Thursday, July 16, 2026 to Tuesday, July 21, 2026

What to Expect:
– Hoses running from Atkins to the Kennedy roof.
– Barricades will be in place.
Affected Buildings:
* Campus
* Kennedy

Why:
To run concrete hoses from just outside of Atkins to the Kennedy roof as part of the Kennedy roof replacement project.

What’s Going On:
The sidewalk from Memorial Hall to SoVi will be closed.

When:
Thursday, July 9, 2026 to Monday, July 20, 2026

What to Expect:
– Pedestrians will need to go to the north stairway at SoVi to gain access to the building.
– Expect to see barricades in place .
– Heavy equipment will be onsite to trench the area.
Affected Buildings:
* Memorial Hall
* South Village Crossing

Why:
To install a new sewer pipe from SoVi through the woods.

What’s Going On:
Construction fencing will be in place between Friday and Fretwell.

When:
Monday, July 6, 2026 8:00 AM to Tuesday, December 1, 2026 5:00 AM

What to Expect:
Walkway between Friday and Fretwell will be narrowed to allow for construction fencing, but will still allow pedestrian flow through the area.

Why:
Construction fencing enclosure for dumpster and lay-down area for the Friday Classrooms Renovation project.

What’s Going On:
The loading dock at the Friday building is being closed off.

When:
Monday, June 22, 2026 7:00 AM to Friday, July 17, 2026 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Deliveries to the building can be made via the adjacent concrete driveway between Fretwell and Friday.
– Construction equipment, materials, and personnel in the area.
– Dumpster service has been suspended during this time period and waste from Friday is being sent to nearby dumpsters.

Why:
To rebuild the two damaged retaining walls at the Friday loading dock, and provide protection against future impacts from delivery vehicles and dumpsters.

What’s Going On:
The sidewalk and stair at the south side of Kennedy will be closed off for all non-emergency traffic to remove the Kennedy canopy as part of the ongoing work to replace the stairs.

When:
Monday, June 29, 2026 7:00 AM to Friday, July 17, 2026 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
– Heavy construction equipment including a crane, demo machinery, and dumpsters.
– A protected emergency egress route will be in place during this time for one set of egress doors as the contractor works.
– This entrance has been closed since November 2025 to all traffic except emergencies due to the failure of the steps which was associated with the canopy.

Why:
To remove the precast concrete canopy at the south side of Kennedy.

The sidewalk between the Popp Martin Student Union and UREC will be closed for construction (including the grassy area and 2 ADA parking spaces adjacent to this area).

When:

What to Expect:
– The area will be blocked off with a construction fence and impassable.
– Signage will be posted inside and outside to help guide patrons.
Affected Buildings:

* University Recreation Center

Why:
To improve ADA access and widen this sidewalk.

What to Expect:
– Area will be blocked off with cones and barricades.
– Large equipment on site.
– They are scheduled to be re-opened by July 18th, 2026

Why:
To resurface these parking areas and to improve sidewalks in the parking areas to meet current ADA standards.
