EMERGENCY – LOSS OF HEATING IN STORRS – Storrs

What’s Going On:
During an investigation of a water leak behind Storrs this afternoon, the problem was discovered to be caused by a leak in the heating hot water system which forced a shutdown of the boiler to prevent catastrophic damage. Crews will be onsite troubleshooting and making repairs throughout the day on Friday, Jan 17.

When:
Thursday, January 16, 2025 5:00 PM to Friday, January 17, 2025 5:00 PM

What to Expect:
This problem has reduced the amount of heat available for the HVAC system which is causing the temperature to drop into the upper 60’s for some rooms but not all. A restoration time has not yet been determined.

Why:
Some spaces may be uncomfortably cool or cold and alternate locations may be needed for activities.
