Lizotte appointed STARS technical advisor

   Michael Lizotte, Ph.D., University sustainability officer, has been appointed a technical advisor by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE).
   AASHE is a nonprofit membership organization that empowers higher education faculty, administrators, staff and students to be effective change agents and drivers of sustainability innovation. AASHE enables its more than 900 members to translate information into action by offering essential resources and professional development to a diverse, engaged community of sustainability leaders.
   The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is a member of AASHE and is working on completing its first Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS) report.
   Lizotte, an adjunct professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and co-principal investigator for the Integrated Network for Social Sustainability at UNC Charlotte, will serve on the Curriculum Technical Advisor Work Group that develops STARS metrics related to teaching and research.
