Construction and Demolition Recycling

What is Construction and Demolition Recycling?

Construction and Demolition (C&D) recycling is diverting usable materials from the landfill that are generated during construction and demolition projects. UNC Charlotte has a goal of diverting 50% of C&D materials from the landfill. The Office of Waste Reduction & Recycling works closely with construction managers to track C&D weights from all major projects on campus.

What can be recycled? Carpet, ceiling tile, concrete, drywall/sheetrock, insulation, metal, pvc pipes, shingles, and wood
