Weird Recycling
There are three locations for our Weird Recycling Centers. They can be found on the:
- first floor of the Popp Martin Student Union, between the main atrium and the food court)
- lowest level of Prospector beside the elevator (same level as Repros and Mail Services)
- lowest level of EPIC in the common area on the first floor
Here, students, faculty and staff can recycle cables / cords, plastic bags, ink cartridges, small batteries and eye glasses. A detailed list of items that can be accepted at the Weird Recycling Center is available for download. Student organizations can also use one of these spaces to use as a collection drive space. Stop by the information desk at the Popp Martin Student Union to learn how.
You can stop by the Popp Martin Student Union, Prospector, or EPIC during their hours of operation and drop off your weird items that can’t be recycled in the other buildings on campus. Check back as new items may be added to the Weird Recycling Center moving forward.
The Weird Recycling Center was made possible by the Charlotte Green Initiative, who funded this, and many more sustainability projects across campus.
Where Can I Recycle Batteries?
In addition to the Weird Recycling Centers, small household batteries can be recycled in most buildings on campus. Look for one of the recycling cabinets, and the plastic “Battery” bin placed on top of it.
