Fall Plant Sale - Opens to the Public
Friday and Saturday, October 1-2. 9am–3 pm
UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens, 9090 Craver Road, Charlotte, NC 28262. Exact sale location TBA.
Fall is the best time to plant in our region, and it’s a great time to plan for spring blooms! You’ll find an outstanding selection of native and non-native hardy shrubs, trees, perennials, wildflowers, ferns and cool weather annuals. This is a great opportunity to ask lots of questions of our knowledgeable staff and volunteers. All proceeds support the operations of the gardens and greenhouse. Details here.
 
Tree Planting
Monday, October 4, 9:30am-11:30am 
Location: near the Motor Sports Building and Lot CRI 3
Supported by Facilities Management Grounds Department. Volunteer as an individual or bring a group to help reforest part of campus. Gain service hours. Snacks will be provided for volunteers, as well as gloves and tools to get the job done.  Sign-up using this Google Form.
 
Campus Cleanup
Tuesday, October 5, 10am-2pm 
Location: Belk Plaza
Volunteer as an individual or bring a group. This is a great way to give back to your UNC Charlotte community, gain service hours, or get some exercise walking around campus. Snacks will be provided for volunteers, as well as gloves, bags, and litter sticks to get the job done. Multiple locations around campus. Sign-up using this Google Form.
 
Meet The Energy Manager
Date: Wednesday, October 6, 5:00-6:00pm
To celebrate Energy Efficiency Day, this online session provides an opportunity to meet and ask questions to our campus Energy Manager, Jason Bernstein. Register to receive the link by using this Google Form.
 
Student Gathering
Thursday, October 7, 6-8pm
Location: Student Union Back Patio
The third annual Student Gathering, sponsored by the Charlotte Green Initiative (CGI, your student green fund). Join them for pizza eating and pumpkin carving. This event brings together student organizations and interested students to meet and discuss projects to make the campus more sustainable.  CGI will share their proposal process as they head into their 11th year.  Sign-up using this Google Form.
