New name, expanded services

In alignment with industry standards, the previously known Automotive and Motor Fleet team has a new name. Effective Aug. 1, Fleet Management, as now known, is a reflection of the team's all-inclusive services.

As part of FM’s Facilities Finance and Business Operations unit, Fleet Management includes the department’s Service Center and Motor Fleet.

The Service Center, which provides vehicle repair and maintenance, brake services, AC evacuation and recharge, fulfills work orders by appointment only. Other services include preventive maintenance, tire repair and replacement, and diagnostic and repairs of cooling systems. Expanded services include a multi-point inspection and vehicle loaner program. Customers needing alternate transportation while their vehicle is being serviced now have access to a small number of Max-EVs.

FM maintains a small fleet of vehicles for official business transportation needs of the campus, which is managed through Motor Fleet. Lease arrangements and terms can be made if customers need vehicles for a duration of time beyond the allowed daily and weekly rental reservations.

All work orders and fleet vehicle reservations must be submitted in ARCHIBUS. 

Fleet Management also provides vehicle purchase assistance by guiding customers toward the correct vehicle that meets their needs and the sustainability goals of carbon reduction on campus.

On Tuesday, Aug. 30, Motor Fleet relocated to the J Building which ensures all Fleet Management services are offered in one location. The newly renovated J Building is located adjacent to the FM-PPS Building. The physical address is 9645 Poplar Terrace Drive. Parking is available in Lot 26 and North Deck.
